The last restaurant my partner worked at had people with PhDs apply for a dishwasing job. I think a hundred people applied for the job over a couple days.

I have a Masters degree and I am often competing for the same jobs as the homeless youth I volunteer with. Its fucked up.

I know. These people had good jobs and lost them. I really sympathize with them. But we give them a try out in the kitchen. The last guy broke 2 dozen eggs trying to fry an egg without breaking the yoke. I really sympathize with them but I can’t afford to retrain them. The other managers and my husband will just have to pick up the slack until we find someone.
