In defense of USSS. Those measures are the USSS’s decision and it’s pretty much done every time a POTUS comes to town. They do the same thing in Seattle, and they’ve done it for everyone since Reagan. It’s all SOP.

Again, news to me. And shutting down one of the city’s busiest freeways at the height of rush hour for a campaign speech (no tack welding required; not enough time on that impromptu stop) was certainly uncalled for.
