So glad we didn’t have twitter when Vanessa Williams was crowned.

I am sure there were nasty comments made about Vanessa back then, but they were only made to cronies, not the entire fucking world to glom onto.

When Nina Davuluri was named Miss New York, I shared the news on my QQ blog here in China, so I can show my students how egalitarian the USA is. It’s a shame that such progress has be accompanied by mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging bigotry.
