Hey, how much longer can the guys who lost everything in the Revolution live, anyway? They must be getting up there. I bet their children and grandchildren smile and nod (and roll their eyes) when Gramps starts talking about that bastard Castro who took their stuff!

There was an article I read back when the news about ending the embargo first came out, from the perspective of a third generation Cubano who has only ever heard of life in Cuba before the revolution from her family or seen it in pictures. And the general theme was that it didn’t matter anymore what the politics were, the damage done, she just wanted to see the country of her ancestors for the first time ever. The embargo is something that is keeping old wounds open, not a means of ending the Castro regime.
