I happen to think that anybody who wants to sell something should pay all the costs incurred in the product, and that includes paying the people who own the intellectual rights to what is being sold. In a way I have reconsidered my original argument for a time limited copyright. I’m not saying you can’t sell tickets to “A Night with John Phillip Sousa” (rock on dude), I’m saying that you owe the owner of the rights something. Just because the guy kicked the bucket or wrote the music more than X number of years ago, I don’t think that entitles anybody to “free” music.
