I get that, and maybe I’m just not seeing what alternatives really exist to letting Bill Ayers get on with his life was.

What should have happened to him after the FBI realized it had f***ed up its investigation and wouldn’t be able to charge him with anything?

there really are not any alternatives, but I personally would not entertain in his living room.
