Because according to Christianity, the “law: was done away with when Jesus came and died on the cross. Sort of the reason you don’t see Christians following the 613 laws of the Hebrew scriptures.

Except when it serves their purpose, like in this occasion. Rather hypocritical bunch they are.

The amount of Christian scholars who believe that NONE of the Mosaic laws apply nowadays are slim. Most believe that some do, and others don’t. So naturally, they only follow the Old Testament sometimes. Its not hypocrisy.
