i understand that ryan wants to survive the primary, but once it’s over, what reason would ryan have to support trump any longer?

If Ryan still believes that there is any chance of Trump actually winning, Ryan will support him. Only through government unified under GOP control can Ryan effectuate his plan to shred the social safety net and dramatically lower taxes on the wealthy.
