Unfortunately, science is hard and without a good foundation and some interest it is difficult to absorb. What we need is a personality that can sex up the message and make it accessible to the average non-scientist. I think this is what Gore was attempting to do but because of his political history was the wrong person for the job.

This is what I’ve been saying for awhile. He’s right for the most part, but he’s not helping because he is who he is.

He’s such a polarizing figure in American politics that the best thing for AGW awareness advocacy would be for him to STFU and pass the torch to someone who isn’t despised by 49% of the population for one reason or another.

At the very least we’ll get a break from people constantly bringing him up to quasi-godwin an AGW discussion.
