It’s the mainstreaming (and mainlining) of conspiracy mongering on the right. Conspiracy theories that were once on the fringe are becoming central to GOP and its right wing institutions, PACs, advocacy groups, watchdog groups, etc.

Drudge issued the warning shot when he began highlighting and featuring Infowars and Alex Jones conspiracy mongering on his site - touting it as a feature (not a bug). He’s embraced the conspiracies, and the rest of the right wing seems to be following without regard to where it leads.

Add to that the right wing echo chamber and they’ve begun the wholesale divorce proceedings from reality, facts, and logic.
