Can you help them, besides “listening”?

The person on the phone has a personality disorder that entails lots of talking — basically cannot stop. I knew this would happen when I called, but had no choice. I needed to ask a favor, but the favor will not be granted and this person won’t get off the phone. I am talking — saying a word now and then — but this person is on a talking jag about every subject. I don’t want to be rude and abrupt. But….
