Can’t say I expected this (though thinking about it I’m not sure why).

It has become increasingly obvious over the last several months that Dodd can’t win reelection. So he’s leaving voluntarily rather than allowing himself to be tossed out.

Why squander an enormous campaign fund on a pointless, unwinnable campaign when it can be squandered on graft and corruption?
