It’s nice to be taken seriously. There’s a lot of good, serious thinking to be found in these pages, and even the disagreements tend to be debates where both sides have made at least some sort of case.

Politics requires taking the other side seriously and explaining your own case from the POV of a wavering supporter of the other side, rather than from the POV of the most committed members of your own side.
