But a man in deep grief overwhwlmed by an uncaring military burocracy just might have been driven to blind red rage over a denial of leave to take care of family after a mothers death.

I’m not saying he was right, or was in any way justified. What I am saying is what assholes a bunch of people in and out of media were about who he is and what set him off.

And if he’d gone on a screaming tirade or even punched somebody out I’d be sympathetic. But in my opinion someone who goes on an active shooter rampage forfeits all sympathy and empathy. They deserve nothing but harsh condemnation thereafter.
