None of this should be new to any reasonably well-informed person. Indeed, if the British didn’t have a plan to go into effect when the monarch dies, I’d be genuinely shocked.

That being said, it will be a momentous occasion when she passes on. She’s the only British monarch I’ve known in my lifetime of 52 years and of course, there’s a ton of Brits (and Commonwealth citizens) who’d be in the same boat as me.

I must admit I’m hoping for her to get past 100 before she leaves. The Platinum Jubilee next year would be fun too.
