The free market sure as shit does need my art, looking at my tax returns from last year. I make two car payments with my art income without breaking a sweat. Like I said above, if I had health care that was reliable and not exorbitant, I could quit tomorrow.

Do you think I should have to work 16 hours a day to work 8 hours as an artist? Does that make any sense to you?

Does anyone else here (besides Killgore) run a sole-porprietorship they could live off of?

I lived the last two years as a technician at a live theatre, for 3 years before that, I was an independent contract programmer working for myself.

I’m unemployed right now, picking up a few pennies doing some programming for Kaiser from home, and working on popping some more contract programming.

I’ve been self employed as an musician, actor, magician, mentalist, clown and other areas in the regional entertainment business.

Yes, I can and have been my own sole-proprietorship for a number of different areas.
