Looking at the beginning, Danny does seem like a bit of a rebound.

Also, fun fact. Someone counted the number of times the Doctor says Clara in series 8. 150+ times

Equivalent to once every 4 minutes per episode.

I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Danny, whether or not time can be rewritten.
