Having Khan played by a person of colour would be like having Scotty played by a scotsman. Just wouldn’t work.

I’m guessing that, “person of color” in this case would mean “not a pasty Brit” (even though I think Cumberbatch did a fairly good job), someone that could at least pass for Indian/SW Asian, in keeping with Montelban’s playing of the part.
