K-/J-/Canto-/Mando-pop groups have a shelf life of maybe five years. As soon as the members get close to 30 (or get married), the groups generally fizzle out, or fresh faces are brought in to keep the brand alive.

The members of both these groups range in age from 20 to 25, for example.

I’m old, too, but setting aside the eye-candy aspects of these groups, the tunes are catchy enough to get stuck in my head. Basic pop tunes, but with some suggestiveness added. I suspect older Koreans’ English is not good enough to catch the double-entendre about “tasting me” in “Ice Cream Cake.”
