Wow. I didn’t realize they were that much. I’ll see about converting mine to an LED; I need to find the Czech version of a Radio Shack for one of those little toggle switches. Other than that, I can buy a small LED flashlight that uses AAA batteries for about $1 or so and then just borrow my neighbor’s soldering iron and get it going. I saw a few vids on YouTube, and apparently, it’s pretty easy to do.

I found a whole new rear wheel with coaster brake hub at a scrapyard not far from here - cost me $6, so the bikes pretty much ready to go. I’ll have to replace the front brake (the spoon brake) pad, but I improvised on that; I used an old leather belt, cut it to fit, and glued the leather together to the appropriate thickness to fit the brake shoe. A lot of those old spoon brake pads were made of leather typically.
