NAACP, @benniegthompson file first civil suit against Trump over #capitolriot.

There was a post last thread linking to a CNN article on this. The CNN article includes the following:

The legal underpinnings of the lawsuit could face an uphill battle in court, since the KKK statute has not been widely used.

Not to disparage Rep. Bennie Thompson, but I wish he’d leave the uphill court battles to others, and concentrate on things he can do as a legislator. In particular, why not introduce legislation that explicitly criminalizes illegitimate efforts to overturn elections?
