Just can’t see the need to go fork out big bucks for a LCD TV when my old projection is working just fine. 1000 hrs is about 3 hrs per day for a year, I’m pretty sure that’s what my coworker said. Oh well mine is a few years old now and still on the original bulb.

Unless it’s a DLP set, modern rear projections don’t have “bulbs.” There are 3 small LCD displays (one each in red, green, and blue) that project onto a mirror (which is why the back of the cabinet’s slanted) and then onto the screen you see from the front.
