Then again, perhaps I’m being too pessimistic. The President ignored calls to force Holder’s resignation in the nothingburger that was “Fast & Furious.” He stood by Hillary when the wingnuts wanted her resignation over BENGHAZI!!!. And he didn’t give into Congressional pressure to fire Sibelius over the initially poor rollout of healthcare.gov. So he may very well go the press and tell them he has faith in Shinseki to tackle the identified problems and will not be calling for his resignation.

Shinseki may not want to get dragged through the mud for months and months by assholes like McCain and the rest of the GOP, attacking him for problems they’re more culpable for.
