Not for lack of the cop shooting him. The cop shot at him 3 times. He’s lucky he got out of the encounter with only a leg wound.

It could have been so much worse for him.

And I can’t wait for the GOP and right wing loons to claim that this was somehow his fault. Because they always do.

This also comes as the GOP claims that law enforcement is beyond reproach and that there’s a war on cops (both are indisputably false). Cops do a tough job and there are cops who shouldn’t be on the force because they abuse their power and put lives in danger. This incident is only the latest evidence that law enforcement is too quick to shoot, even when the circumstances don’t warrant it.
