How in the world does a 25 year old with 6 months on the job get top secret security clearance?

Because they grant it to anyone who needs it. Security clearances, after the background checks are done, are based on need to get a job done. So, in order to do her job, it was determined that she needed to get a Top Secret clearance. She would have needed a more thorough background check, but age has nothing to do with it, not if we’re going to send 18 year olds into battle.

Here’s a question for everyone: You’ve been told you need to protect the United States, and you find information that the Russians tried to hack voting machines. Is it more patriotic to keep that information quiet, or to make it public?
