I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, but the original tweet’s replies are a trashfire absolving the guy of all blame and saying the girl shouldn’t have been “raging around” and thus deserved to get punched.

Because yes, we’re still at a point in this country where it’s ok for an adult male to punch an 11 year old girl, long as she’s black.
