It’s rather stupid when you think about it. Terrorists, who happen to be Muslim, don’t wear traditional Muslim clothing when carrying out an attack. Everyone knows that the 911 hijackers wore ordinary Western clothing and were also clean shaven. So the notion that Juan Williams spoke the truth is only true to the level that yes, it’s true that some people may get nervous, but it’s both an irrational response and a fallacy that does not match real world conditions.

I agree but that’s not where the right is headed. They want to oppose Islam in general. They want to prohibit mosques, stop companies from making halal food. It’s not really about how legitimate his fears may or may not be. They just want to express their fear.
