I cannot tell you how many times I have been told they could save me from their imaginary Bad Thing. They don’t get that the fact that I don’t believe in it means their offer is pointless.
It’s the flip side of Pascal’s wager - that you should worship (their) god because you lose nothing if you’re wrong. Such people don’t seem to understand I don’t believe in a Heaven any more than I do a Hell. (And Pascal’s Wager fails on my Kali example above.)
