Creature from the Black Lagoon is still in my top 3 monster movies, some of y’all might try and make the case that it is not real. The movie was a late comer but hits the spots for me.

I was 8 years old Halloween night and WIIC Pittsburgh was going to show the original Frankenstein at 1AM after the Tonight Show. That night, I went to sleep at 8PM and got up at midnight, couldn’t sleep, snuck downstairs, turned the TV on very low and watched Karloff. That movie scared the crap out of me!

Years later Dad told me that he saw Frankenstein when it came out in 1931 and it scared the #2 out of him. Dad INSISTED that when he saw it Karloff’s monster was tinted green in the print and that scared him all the more.
