True drummer story: our dcrummer used to call up regularly before a gig to say that his truck had broken down and could we pick up his gear and bring him to the gig.

But he was otherwise a decent guy who would always help us if one of our cars broke down.

So we get a call the afternoon before a gig. He needed help: not because his truck had broken down, but his girlfriend had kicked him out, and his truck was too crammed with his stuff to fit the drum kit!
