It’s not just double standards, it’s backwards standards. Collective accountability from something like a company or a government institution, where its leadership and official policies (or failures of enforcement thereof) can often mean a failure and responsibility beyond just the specific people involved? That’s understandable. Collective accountability of a group based on a stereotype and generalization, less so. Yet most of the fucking country wants said accountability from the latter groups and absolve the former with ‘bad apples’. It’s fucking horrifically backwards.
