Sounds plausible to me. But that would presuppose that (A) Chrysler is closing the dealerships that are selling fewer cars, and either (B) Democrats are becoming less and less likely to buy domestic cars, at a greater rate than Republicans, or (C) the Democratic districts where more dealerships are closing are becoming more strongly Democratic than they used to be.
I believe that A is true, but not necessarily B or C.
From what I can see, any difference is safely within the noise band.
