Yeah, jokes about blood libel really aren’t going to get a laugh out of me. I’m fairly certain Palin’s bastardization of it and the support she’s getting from so many of the right for using the term so wildly inappropriately is going to permanently corrupt the definition, and another importance piece of Jewish history is going to pass out of the realm of common knowledge.

I’m going out on a limb here, but I think all this gnashing of teeth over Palin using the term “Blood Libel” is an Outrageous Outrage. (OMG OMG OMG did Alouette just say that?)

There hasn’t been an actual “Blood Libel” in 100 years, since the Tsarist trial of Mendel Beilis. Sure, the Arab media is full of blood libels, but they’re also full of other “Zionist plots” like trained sharks and spy vultures.

If Palin had said, “Obama is making a Holocaust on the conservatives” that’s the signal for outrage.
