There are some nasty big crows in Japan.

A couple of times when I was traipsing around the remoter areas of Nara Park, away from all the people, I’d walk along (looking for things to photograph) and be startled by crows sitting on fences. Huge, and stubborn - they didn’t seem at all like they were afraid of me and wouldn’t move. I think they hung around to pick up food normally given to the deer. Anyway, crows definitely have attitudes.
