My (Scottish) ex and I had an ongoing debate about spelling and pronunciation and choice of words. My favo(u)rite was when we had been hiking and we were changing out of our muddy footwear: βWhere should I put these hiking boots?β
I grew up near the Canadian border in Michigan, and usually listened to Canadian radio stations as a teenager (our local choice was an agricultural station). As such, my wife is of the opinion my accent sounds a lot like southern Ontario.
