They’re expecting a 2-3 foot surge with 8-10 foot waves in the gulf coast, last I heard. Enough to push oil into the bayous. The good news is that some of the oil will break up in the rough water, but that’ll only offer temporary respite.

damn, if only we had had some of those Dutch skimmers…
or the French ones…
or even just to one Shell has mothballed in Alaska…
