The vast majority of drivers believe their driving skills are above average.

The thing is, even though modern cars are vastly safer than they were even a decade ago, they don’t escape the laws of physics.

The proliferation of safety devices is lulling us into inattention. And providing false confidence of little or no injury if a crash happens. When lights remind people when they can’t change lanes, drivers look at the light and ignore the mirror. Then one day the “extra safety feature” light fails. The mirror is ignored and bang spin crunch.
