Well, if we are known by the company we keep, then we conservatives do have a problem.

If the fringe elements are more and more identified as being part of the conservative “mainstream” —and it’s happening as the left controls the images put out in the MSM—then we have to reject, as strongly as possible those elements. We cannot for the sake of expediency embrace groups who promote views which are anathema to the central philosophy of this country. What good id it if we win the election and lose our soul in the process.

You are absolutely right. It’s easy to see what’s happening inside the liberals’ tent - alliances with wacked-out anti-war, socialist/fascist/communist/marxist ideologues that have infiltrated the democratic party - but not see the exact same thing is happening inside the republican tent.

Conservatives need to push away from the slightest hint of the wacko right element - and that especially includes the white supremacists - or it will signal the end of the republican party. We can’t afford to embrace worldviews that are destructive, evil, racist, or ultra-religious in any way. When the Huckabee’s of politics insist on Christianizing the Constitution, then what’s to stop the muslim politicians insistance on islamizing it?

We do walk a fine line.
