I remember a little ditty we used to sing as kids:

Mine eyes have seen the horror of the burning of the school
We have tortured every teacher, we have broken every rule
(it gets worse, you can Google it)

A kid would get expelled for singing it today.

Shouldn’t that be “glory” rather than “horror”?

That’s how we sang it.

Also “great green gobs of greasy, grimy, gopher guts…”

I grew up in Canada by the way.
