Friend of mine worked on the Dr. Phil show. The experience was basically akin to working in an Amazon warehouse. Slap everything together as quickly and cheaply as possible, while running flat out all day, every day to make impossible deadlines. The work product was shit. The working conditions were shit.

Which made the show profitable beyond the dreams of Croesus. All the wealth flowed to the few at the top, while everyone else scrounged for rent money each month, and went to the free clinic when they suffered injuries from burnout & exhaustion.
