White House Condemns Iranian Suppression of Protests

Powerful statement, and timely on this occasion, not as with the initial round of protests.

May no celebrity deaths intervene in the media coverage. Stopped watching CNN after they let MJ’s death displace their coverage of the ongoing Iranian protests.

My other suggestion (in earlier thread) was US link domestic repression to foreign aggression. The year is ending th at the US gave Iran to make progress on the nuclear issue, Teheran has responded with utter disdain,
and the President could point out that the world is well aware from history that internal repression is often accompanied by external belligerence, and US looks forward to seeing from Iran respects universal human rights at home and a foreign policy that permits it resume a proud place in the council of nations.
