I’m no great fan of Obamacare, but when I see stuff like that, I wonder if easy access to mental health care is such a bad idea.

I’m no great fan of Obamacare either.

Twenty years, it’s been, since universal health care was first put forward by Bush I’s administration and shown to be effective not only in reducing costs but also providing better health care. Twenty lost years, an entire generation of Americans who should have grown up with the US government doing its job. And a golden opportunity to right that wrong was lost, mostly by a President too timid to seize history. Twenty more years it will be now, another generation having to put up with substandard care and wasted money, while telling themselves that it’s somehow better because that’s what spokespeople for megacorporations tell them.

That was probably too early for a sudden rant. It’s been a long day of frustrations with the human costs of the US health care system.
