Shit, if only it were one. My mother’s whole side of the family is country folk. I learned awhile back not to broach the subject of politics around them and to avoid responding when they do.

My dad’s family is largely in Mexico, so they will go off on a tear about two things— football (i.e., soccer) and the Mexican elections going on now. My mom’s family has a few sane people among them, but quite a few wingnuts, and at least one of my uncles is a birther. I found that out over Christmas. It was annoying, to say the least.
