Video: Dueling Campaign Web Ads

“I stand by what I said, whatever it was”

Since I’ve been posting some of the Obama campaign ads from YouTube, it’s only fair to post the first official ad from Mitt Romney, in which he promises to kill “Obamacare” on day one of his presidency:

Youtube Video

Followed by the latest ad from the Obama campaign, hammering Romney hard with his own words:

Romney's first 'positive' ad attacks Obama. Mitt's a first-rate asshole.

Yes folks, on Day One, Romney will move mountains, part seas, and override a Democrat filibuster with the power of his awesomeness. Fear him!

My son, the Wingnut, called today to ask if I was voting for Romney. I said WTF! Of course not! Then he asked do I support the Great Anti-Internet "Asifa" and again I said WTF! Of course not!

Thank G-D he lives in Canada and doesn't vote in U.S. elections.

Doesn't it matter that you work in the auto industry? Like he'd be your last choice if you were GOP. I'd think most would remember Romney's 'support' ?

It's just a bad case of tendonitis...looks like an injury I got a couple of years ago is re-aggravated, and I'll be blessed with this pain from time to time. At least it's treatable.

I would humblly suggest you check-out Prolotherapy. There are practitioners in just about every state. My doc at Loyola recommended it for my soft-tissue issues and I've been thrilled with the results.

My dad's family is largely in Mexico, so they will go off on a tear about two things-- football (i.e., soccer) and the Mexican elections going on now. My mom's family has a few sane people among them, but quite a few wingnuts, and at least one of my uncles is a birther. I found that out over Christmas. It was annoying, to say the least.

I haven't seen my dad's side of the family since age 4, so I've no real memories of them. But my mother's side is everything from "sophisticated Southern" to "dumb redneck" and every shade in-between. If you can think of a stereotype about Southern conservatives, I've seen it in them. Even my grandmother, God love her, thinks that Dr. King was a "troublemaker."

Maryland court: Gay divorce OK while gay marriage isn't
By BRIAN WITTE, Associated Press – 3 hours ago

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland's highest court ruled Friday that same-sex couples can divorce in the state even though Maryland does not yet permit same-sex marriages.

The Court of Appeals ruled 7-0 that couples who have a valid marriage from another state can divorce in Maryland. The case involved two women who were married in California and denied a divorce in 2010 by a Maryland judge.

"A valid out-of-state same-sex marriage should be treated by Maryland courts as worthy of divorce, according to the applicable statues, reported cases, and court rules of this state," the court concluded in a 21-page ruling...

Hell, you wanna kill their support for the pipeline? Bring up the fact that the refinery where this sludge is being pumped to is 50% owned by a Saudi Aramco, while the other 50% is owned by Royal Dutch Shell. And that it's in a free trade zone, which means that there will be no taxes collected even if it's 100% exported.

And that pack of 'security' militiamen takes us to --AIP, Todd Palin's old buds. Do they put something better than flouride in the water up there?

All that isolation perhaps.

Pretty funny story about eight girls named Nguyen who wore identical dresses and then combined their quotes to form a sentence.

That's awesome. They went for the Nguyen. Haha.

Yup. Bill Fulton, from the Miller campaign security bit has a surplus store that was dealing grenade fuzes. Fuzes for smoke grenades show up in your link. (Smoke grenades or HE grenades don't make no nevermind to the fuzes, they fit common threaded wells.)

U.S. Oil Giants Poised to Gain on Keystone Pipeline

...Little attention has been paid to what specific companies are positioned to benefit the most should the project be approved, and what that could mean for the oil shipped through the pipeline.

Shell is more than doubling its refining capacity—from 275,000 to 600,000 barrels of oil a day—at a refinery in Port Arthur, Texas. Port Arthur is one of two destinations for oil that would be shipped via Keystone XL. That refinery is half-owned by Saudi Aramco, the state-owned oil company of Saudi Arabia. The final destination for the additional oil refined at Port Arthur remains to be seen. But the connection between Shell and Saudi Aramco is galvanizing environmentalists.

“Oil companies say this will reduce our dependence on Middle Eastern oil, but in reality the pipeline will shift tar sands oil coming into America’s Midwest and send it instead to port refineries controlled by Saudi Arabia, who can then charge higher prices or ship it anywhere in the world,” said Jeremy Symons, senior vice president for conservation and education at the National Wildlife Federation. “America is becoming the middleman in the global oil business.”

Thankfully the monotony has been broken up by another thread criticizing wingnuts.

re: #105 Killgore Trout

Because the appearance of false balance is the most important thing in the world. Never mind that the wingnuts are running the GOP while the extremists on the left have little or no access to power-- we've got to focus on both equally, darn it!
