They’re not going to sit quietly and accept the pushback without response much longer. Chaffetz’s response to his town hall shows that they view the resistance to their agenda as completely illegitimate and false.

Viewing himself as a ‘law & order’ president, Trump (and his ego) isn’t going to be able to take it much longer before he lashes out with more than tweets. Crazy Sheriff Clarke has already made clear how he views anti-Trump protests and there’s probably a whole hell of a lot of cops who share his views and will happily follow Trump’s directives to go after the opposition.

I think things are going to get a lot uglier before they get better.

That’s not a bad prediction, because what we’re seeing right now is an attempt by Trump to nationalize the oppression of the South in the 60s. But there are more of us prepared to fight back, and, unlike the 60s, it’s already being televised. I’m not saying it’ll be easy, but I don’t think as many things are going to go Trump’s way as he thinks.
