Railroads are still delaying implementation of PTC, which can help reduce deadly crashes caused by signal failures, running signals, or exceeding speed limits in various areas.

In just the past couple of years, NYC area railroads have suffered from deadly crashes that could have been avoided had PTC been installed. This includes deadly crashes involving Amtrak, NJ Transit, and Metro North.

Same old shit. They resisted installing the Westinghouse brakes, even though they were clearly more effective and cost efficient than having men risk their lives running from car to car to set the brakes by hand.

The auto industry is not much better. Remember how long it took them to install seat belts, then air bags?
