Obligatory feel-good story of the day:
Turku hero Hassan Zubier got his medal today. Zubier intervened with peril for his own life to save the lives of others during the terrorist attack in Turku last year. This is the first time the Finnish life-saving medal imparted a non-Finnish citizen. Kiitos Hassan!
Kiitos Hassan! ❤️https://t.co/U3oFHjAhgs pic.twitter.com/6vX8rRnVsx

Translation:
Today, I was conferred as the first foreigner since the medal founding in 1923 the Finnish President’s Medal for lifesaving efforts. It was with great humility and honor I received the medal from Finland’s Ambassador Liisa Maria Talonpoika.
I share the medal with all those who chased the Terrorist and those who gave first aid to the victims after the attack
Thank you all the Finns and Swedes for your support, encouraging posts and love
Thank you to Sveriges Finlands ambassadör Liisa Maria Talonpoika For a really nice welcome, warmth and a lot of laughter.
It was an honor to meet the Ambassador and I will always remember our meeting with joy and humility.
