You also have a lot of reporters who have no real knowledge of the topics they’re reporting on. E.g., political reporters who have no idea how separation of powers works or the political process. Or court reports who have no understanding of the criminal system, etc.

I saw that in college. I was a student reporter for a couple years. What honestly disillusioned me was seeing how a movement I got involved in, improved working conditions for the cafeteria workers got made us into a SEIU puppets. Then again knowing my alma mater’s Econ department, I’m not too shocked.
