Trump pardoning his cronies one after the other will eventually get so blatant as to turn the mainstream media decisively against Trump, with serious collateral damage to the whole Republican party.

That’s a big risk to take, since the Republicans rely heavily on the both-siderist shielding they get from the media.

Am I correct in understanding that, if trump pardons some of his cohorts, the pardoned cohorts can then be required to testify against him or others because they have immunity from further prosecution? And that refusing to testify would then be contempt of court?
