As far as I can tell, the press has no information on who he is at all. The cops said a few things that make me think they’re looking into the idea that the Guardsmen might have been targeted, but I don’t know why they specifically might think that.

Since from the eye witness account the guy showed up ready and apparently determined, this would seem to be pretty clearly a premeditated and planned attack. How much time do those Guardsmen spend in an IHOP? If those guys were specifically targeted I wouldn’t think the IHOP would be the first place to look.
